The PLANET GSW-2620VHP is equipped with 24 x 10/100 for a flexible mix of connections. Thanks to its transceiver slots, you can link distant wiring closets over fiber without extra media converters. Built-in PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) lets you install access points, IP cameras, VoIP phones and IoT sensors wherever a network cable can reach, without running mains power. This model provides a stated PoE power budget of 300W. Fiber connectivity extends reach well past 100 meters and avoids electromagnetic interference. Cabled connections avoid the interference and congestion that can affect wireless networks.

As an unmanaged switch, it needs no setup: just plug in your cables and it automatically detects link speed and duplex. Email, file sharing, voice and video all depend on stable switching underneath. Each switched port gives a connected device its own dedicated link instead of sharing bandwidth as on an old-style hub. With no configuration to maintain, it is ideal where there is no dedicated IT staff. A simple port plan, with end devices on one side and uplinks on the other, makes expansion easier later.
